How a firing works

  1. 01

    Book online

Pick a community date and shelf size, or a full kiln date.

  2. 02

    Prep your work

Bone dry for bisque. Clean feet for glaze. Initials on every piece.

  3. 03

    Drop off

Bring it in during your drop-off window. We check it with you.

  4. 04

    We load and fire

Loaded by hand, fired and cooled slowly. Cone packs on every shelf.

  5. 05

    Pick up

We email when she’s open. Pay at drop-off, collect your work.

What we need from you

Work that doesn’t meet these goes back to you unfired, so the rest of the load stays safe.

  • Greenware for bisque is bone dry.
  • Glaze is wiped off the foot, at least ¼" up the side (or the piece is stilted).
  • Clay and glazes are rated for the cone you booked.
  • Your initials are on the bottom of every piece.
  • New or untested glazes sit on a cookie or are flagged in your notes.
  • Work fits inside the shelf space you booked.
